Savor Short: Sin, Iniquity & Transgression
Sin Khata (HA-TA) Hebrew
HAMARTIA (Hamatia) Greek
Sin to miss the mark
God created us to be in loving relationship with him and his creation
Sin was when we missed that through the fall
The goal is to love God and others
When we fail to honor others then we fail to honor God
Sin is more than about doing bad things
Fist appearance of sin is Genesis 4:7
Cain and Abel
Khata is crouching at the door
failed human behavior which makes us act for our own benefit
Iniquity: Avon means twisted or crooked A-von
malformed or bent out of shape
murder, adultery, deceitfulness, broken faith, violence and other harm
Transgression: Pesha pe-sha
transgression violation of trust
All sin equally separates us from God but all sin is not equal
Sin miss the mark, a mistake
Avon persistent habit of wrong
Pesha deliberate breaking of Trust and disobedience
Thank God that He covers it all!
How blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven,
Whose sin is covered!
How blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity,
And in whose spirit there is no deceit! Psalm 32:1-2
Jesus on the cross, Father Forgive them for they know not what they are doing
Sin they were missing the mark
