Shame Off You
Brene Brown”s definition of shame: intensely painful feeling or experience of believing that we are flawed and therefore unworthy of love, belonging, and connection
She says:
1. We all experience it
2. It’s not easy to talk about it
3. Talking about our shame brings a sense of control & that control gives us a strength to overcome our feelings and move forward (we say this coupled with prayer and empowering of the Holy Spirit will move you out of shame)
Scripture teaches four connotations of the idea of shame.
1. delay
2. confusion
3. defeat at the hand’s of an enemy
4. results from an imprudent or immoral action
